President's Report
President’s Message
By Julie Dunham, President, IAMSS
Hi everyone,
It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into the final stretch of the year! I hope this message finds you all well whether you’re knee-deep in credentialing files, onboarding new providers, navigating payer portals, or just trying to keep all the plates spinning (hopefully with coffee in hand).
I just returned from the NAMSS Conference, and it was truly energizing to be surrounded by professionals from across the country who are just as passionate about medical staff services, credentialing, and provider enrollment as we are. The sessions were insightful, the networking was meaningful, and I left feeling both proud of our profession and excited about what’s ahead. And to be honest — it was great to speak in acronyms and have people actually know what you’re saying!
One of my biggest takeaways from the conference is how much our field continues to evolve and how critical it is that we stay connected, informed, and supported through it all. Whether you’re working in credentialing, privileging, peer review, provider enrollment, or some combination of everything, your role is essential to the success of your organization and the safety of patients.
Before we close out 2025, Medical Staff Professionals Week, coming up November 3–9, 2025, is our moment to celebrate the dedicated professionals who are often behind the scenes but always at the heart of healthcare operations. I encourage each of you to take time during MSP Week to reflect on your accomplishments, recognize yourself and your teams, and help spread awareness about the vital role Medical Staff Services plays in both patient safety and provider support.
I am so grateful to be surrounded by this amazing community of MSPs.
Until next time, take care of yourselves and each other!
Articles of Incorporation & Bylaws Changes
The IAMSS Board learned that our association had never been formally incorporated with the State of Iowa. We’ve begun the process of filing our Articles of Incorporation to make this official.
At the same time, we’ve updated our bylaws to reflect changes in board structure and to align more closely with NAMSS standards.
To adopt both the Articles of Incorporation and the revised Bylaws, we need approval from our members with at least two-thirds (2/3) of votes in favor.
An email will be sent to all IAMSS members on Wednesday, October 15, with a link to review the proposed documents and cast your vote. The voting period will remain open until October 29.
Please take a few minutes to review and vote; your voice truly matters!
